Buyer
Buyers are primarily responsible for the planning, selecting and buying of merchandise for retail establishments. Duties include market research, competitor analysis, product evaluations and testing, monitoring purchase orders and creating reports for the management team. Successful candidate must possess a strong industry knowledge with the ability to forecast market trends and perform consumer research.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop an efficient and accurate system for monitoring all open purchase orders
Deliver a weekly purchase order report to management that indicates the vendor invoice number for all closed purchase orders
Work with the inventory management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing products
Assist the Supply Chain Manager with maintaining proper inventory levels of materials used on a regular basis
Establish reliable lines of contact with field management team to ensure that all field purchase orders are accurate
Research select and purchase quality products and materials
Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing
Process requisitions and update management on status of orders
Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels
Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery
Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions
Coordinate with inventory team, management, and stockroom as required
Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management
Other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Abilities:
Strong negotiating skills
Comprehensive understanding of MS Excel, MS Word and industry standard purchase order software platforms
Impeccable attention to detail
Ability to work well with a team
Able to thrive in a high stress and faced paced environment
Qualifications & Experience Levels:
Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering degree preferred
Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification or studying towards CIPS
qualification would be beneficial
Previous experience of working in a purchasing team preferably within an automotive or manufacturing environment
Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown
Experience of working closely with suppliers
Able to add value, reduce costs and input to business improvements
An understanding of automotive processes and components would be advantageous
Computer literate, with advanced Excel skills/abilities
