Pre-Weigh Technician

Provides pre-weigh tasks and actions of chemicals for batch compounding or raw material preparation. Will document measurements and as assigned according to formula varying from 1-gram to 3,000-pounds. Moves chemical or material by hand or forklift. May assist in the weighing/mixing of sanitizing agent.

Reports to: Supervisor of Pre-Weigh

Weigher in Pre-Weigh:

  • Work in the Weigh Room Department in a manufacturing environment to meet and exceed company goals and objectives

  • Ensure procedures, protocols and policies are understood and followed 

  • Review approved completed batch weigh outs

  • Ensure that equipment is cleaned according to protocol and procedures

  • Ensure all equipment activity and use logs are current and correct

  • Duties must be performed safely and under current safety requirements

  • Work with team to ensure all equipment is operated safely and under current safety requirements

  • Follow requirements outlined in the current Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

  • Understand process instruction (batch sheets) and ensure you have a complete understanding of the weighing process

  • Check and verify weigh outs of raw materials

  • Check and verify raw materials

  • Any other duties as assigned


Required Skills & Abilities:

  • To be successful in this role one will need to be computer proficient

  • Have a keen eye with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a problem solver, and a willingness to learn the consumer products business


Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma and excellent math skills with the ability to handle raw material safely

  • General understanding of quality, sanitation, safety, cost management, waste control and raw material, is preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing

  • Must be detailed oriented, hand eye coordination   

  • Must be able to lift to 10 pounds
